Local websites to consider
We have to start with the "mothership" - the official website of the City of Mississauga. Take the time to register and let them know you are watching. Drop a suggestion to their "Contact Us" to suggest any improvement.
The Mississauga Muse provides detailed research, many words, colourful language, long videos and a connection to youth that is vital. Mississauga Watch is an important looking glass focussed on our City.
Two ambitious brothers deserve a few moments of your coding in exchange for their enthusiasm and details of "all things Mississauga" with their Wikisauga. Try your hand at their Mystery Picture test.
The Toronto Star is widely read by Mississauga and through its Metroland Holdings publishes The Mississauga News. Several citizens maintain blogs there always an interesting angle from some.
Local areas are represented Port Credit, Clarkson, Streetsville These sites need your viewing to allow author to boost the content. Remember the "Power of One".
Local Ratepayer groups are very important, 25 of the 40 active groups in the 53 eligible areas formed MIRANET to try and work collaboratively with the City on big issues. Seems to have stolen the purpose and passion from many though. That and comments coming from a coalition of 25 of 53 possible and only a few people active amongst the 25 means to always add the grain of salt. Why are there no ratepayer associations in Wards 4, 5, 6 and 9?
